Shaken and Stirred

31 When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly. (Acts 4:31 CSB)

Sometimes we to be shaken so that our spirit is stirred.

It is very easy to become complacent in life. To simply go about our days with only a fleeting glimpse toward the spiritual. Only a nod toward our faith.

We all understand the criticality around our need to prepare for retirement. We spend many years putting money back for a time when we will either have enough to retire or be in a place where we can no longer work and need it.

But retirement is such a short span of years.

What are you putting way for eternity?

Granted we can do nothing, save believing, to get into heaven. However, once we believe we have a job to do here on earth that will store up for us good things in eternity.

Thus, we need to be shaken so that our spirit is stirred and get on with the work we have preparing for eternity.
