Eternity View

18 I will do this,’ he said. ‘I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones and store all my grain and my goods there. 19 Then I’ll say to myself, “You have many goods stored up for many years. Take it easy; eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.”’

20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is demanded of you. And the things you have prepared—whose will they be?’ (Luke 12:18-20 CSB)

Christ is not saying in this parable that we should not prepare for the future. What he is saying is that we must do so in a different way. We must do so in a way that honors Him and in a way that has an eternity view.

We do not know what tomorrow will bring. I think we can agree on this, especially this year!

This is because the world is much bigger than we are, and we are somewhat at its whim. But the beauty of God is he is even bigger. So no matter what is happening in the world we can rest assured that God is bigger than any of it.

To take an eternity view will help put today and tomorrow into perspective.
