Open to Anything

27 Don’t boast about tomorrow,
for you don’t know what a day might bring. (Proverbs 27:1 CSB)

Not only do we not know what tomorrow will bring, we have no idea if there will be a tomorrow.

We have only now, and nothing else.

This does not mean we should not plan for tomorrow. However, what it means is that we should not lose today in planning for tomorrow.

There is far too much written on how we end up in our latter years and find we have many regrets. We have lived a life of either striving for greater success or we have lived a life of striving to survive.

Both have their seasons. But if we live all our lives focused on ourselves, we leave little room for God….or for God to work.

Then we end up at some inevitable end and lament the past.

I get it. Maybe we do not know a new way, cannot see a new path. Maybe it is time to close our eyes and simply step forward in faith. See what God has in store, open to anything, available for everything.
