17 Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,[a] who richly provides us with all things to enjoy. (1 Timothy 6:17 CSB)
Money creates a false sense of security.
Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11 – Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:
However, learning to be content is not something that comes natural to us. This, and the world strives to make us feel want at every turn.
If we take a moment and think about life and, especially this year, we consider the uncertainty we have all felt, is there a better way?
Yes, and that way is to look at life through God’s eyes. To consider how much God has already provided and how His provision is the true security we need. We are never totally secure within ourselves. Money may cover a lot of things, but it can never (should never) lead to a sense of security. Money is fleeting as many can attest.
Consider instead the security that comes form knowing Christ and accepting His providence.
