4 “No! You will certainly not die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “In fact, God knows that when[a] you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4-5 CSB)
Have you ever had a situation where you really wanted to understand something on a deeper level, then when you found out all the details you wish you did not know.
Our human nature is to want to know all the details. Today, many are seeking deeper, unknown knowledge through may esoteric practices. We seek to “find ourselves” and often in doing so we do not like what we are ultimately left with.
Sometimes the less you know the better.
Eve listened to the serpent (Satan), and in doing so got more than she bargained for.
Oh, how often it is the same for us. We go seeking and the enemy is right there waiting to fill us with all form of uselessness.
It is when we seek ourselves in Christ that we truly find that is what of lasting value.
