Do we really consider God in the world beyond our lives? The Lord is involved in every human act. Yes, He desires personal relationship, but that presupposes that He is in everything we do. Thus, the work we put our hands to is also something God has sovereignty over. The people who are put in power, even if we do not agree with them are someone God has purposed to put in their places.

I think too often we see God in far too small a manner. We draw Him into our very narrow prayers and forget that He is the God of all things, and everything in the universe. I often struggle with the vastness of the universe and the reason for all the billions upon billions of planets. What is God’s purpose in all of them? Is it only so that we can see that vastness and know that God is even bigger than it all, sovereign over it all? Starting to consider that vastness and the fact that He knows every hair on your head gives us some insight into just how wonderful and intricate our God is.

Reflect on: The fact that God is over all and in all, but still wants that personal relationship with each of us.
