¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. (Romans 13:14 NKJV)

When we “make no provision” for the flesh, we are focusing fully upon God. We are not making excuses that allow us to fulfill our desires simply because we can. Taking up our cross daily and keeping our eyes upward will help us to do only what God desires. The moment we look somewhere else the enemy is waiting to drag us away.

You may think that I am being overly dramatic, but there is nothing more that the enemy wants for you to think that. To take God’s scripture and minimize what He is telling us through it. To keep us distracted and focused upon our own desires, our own wants and needs. This world is not our final destination and if we treat it like it is we will focus only upon what we can get out of it.

There is something so much bigger at stake here, and we cannot lose sight of that very fact.
