1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2 NKJV)
It can be difficult for us to comprehend that once saved there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. This seems antithetical to our way of thinking mainly because we are a consequence based people. For every action there is a reaction, we do not forgive so quickly so how could God?
Well, luckily we are not God. He works on a different scale of justice, and while we will answer for our every sin, they are all covered in Christ blood. We have been atoned for and can come before the throne with confidence that God loves us even though we sinned. While there may still be consequences for our sin, there is no condemnation from God’s point of view.
This does not release us to go and sin and not worry. It still requires a lifestyle that seeks to eradicate the sin we do still commit. But it provides us confidence in God’s love toward us, for He loved us first.
Reflect on: Your views on how God feels about you when you sin. Do you think His love changes? If so, you need to soak yourself in scripture about this.
There Is No Condemnation
