The feeling that Jesus will return soon, in many circles, has never been stronger. I too feel like our time is short. We should live every day as if it could be our last, either because He will return soon or because we do not know when our life will be asked of us.
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, (Acts 17:30 NKJV)
I read this scripture and thought of myself first in the fact that He used the term ignorant, or ignorance. I cannot read scripture and not apply it to me first and foremost. I see myself in every verse, and that is how scripture was meant to be read in my opinion. Thus, I realize that I first am called to repentance. That I must first be the man of faith God calls for us all to be, man or woman.
As I approach the morning church service, I always reflect on the week and how I did or did not do from a faith standpoint. Some weeks I feel pretty good, others I can only reflect on my failures. The important part is to reflect and repent. Desiring to not repeat sins and frustrated when I realize I have. This makes me desire to do better week over week, even when I fail repetitively. Christ may return soon and we cannot claim we were ignorant of His desire for us.
Reflect on: Reflecting on your sin each week and working to do better, for you cannot say you were ignorant of your sin.
