22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV)
Each morning is an opportunity for a fresh start. Thus, it is good for us to know that God’s love, compassion and mercies are new every morning. We need not wait for some event to begin anew each day, whether that is just a start to a fresh day or a beginning to rework our lives.
The first line of our passage also reminds us that through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed. Even though the world may seek to destroy us in its myriad of ways, the Lord is there to build us up and support us. He does not want our destruction, no, He wants to see us built up, happy and healthy.
Thus, make a point to begin today anew. Do not wait another moment to change your life into one of great faith and humble service. We need not be saints or pillars of faith, to be faithful companions of God.
Reflect on: The newness of the morning. Thank God for it, for your life and all He is doing in your life.
