6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; (James 1:6-7 NKJV)
I believe one of the hardest parts of our journey is to ask in faith and not doubt God in any way. This is especially true when we consider what we want to happen within our timeline and it does not work out that way. I have written many times that God is not a genie in a bottle to grant wishes.
Doubt is such an insidious thing. It worms its way into our psyche and lays its eggs that then give birth to all forms of anxiety and fear. The human nature is one that is, as our scripture warns, easily like a wave driven and tossed by the wind. How can we hope to receive anything good from God if we are driven by doubt, anxiety and fear? Where is our trust? What does our fears and anxiety benefit us?
Reflect on: Your trust in God and how you deal with expectations around what you ask in faith.
