Sufficient in our Insufficiency

And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, (2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NKJV)

I am just OCD enough to truly enjoy when things line up. Today’s book and verses should be easy for everyone to remember because the numbers line up so well 2,3,4,5. I know, more than you needed to know about my psyche, right!

However, the numbers also line up really well to help us remember this message; We do not have to be sufficient because our sufficiency is from God.

What a wonderful promise. I know, even though I am a typically confident person, that there are times when I just feel insufficient. Especially when it comes to carrying out God’s plan for my life. I too often do what I want and do not follow His plan. But God is always sufficient to tug me back into line and straighten out my path. His love wraps around me once again and I go from feelings of weakness to strength.

God truly loves you, no matter how errant you have been. He will lovingly and joyfully welcome you back with open arms and point you again in the right direction.

Reflect on: Your insufficiency and God’s sufficiency.
