Confidence in the Lord

1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to [a]be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3 NKJV)

It is normal to look upon life’s trials and feel some level of fear. Life takes us by surprise at times and can cause us to be unsure about the future. However, if we have a strong faith life we can rest assured in God’s promises. It is not that life will not be difficult, it is for everyone from time to time. But it means we are not facing those difficulties alone.

Lift your eye up and know where your true protection comes from. It comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will provide sure footing in this life and even keeps us when we sleep.

We need to show up to this life differently. We need to show our confidence in the Lord and His provisions. If we are crestfallen every time something difficult comes our way, how are we different from everyone else? How can we show that we rely upon the love of God to sustain us even through the most difficult of times?

Reflect on: Just how confident you are in the love and promises you read in scripture. What do you need to shore up your confidence in the Lord?
