Living Your Best Life

1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (John 14:1-3 NKJV)

God is preparing a place for each of us in heaven. He will come again to take us there as well. We just have to live out our lives the best we can until that time.

But is living the best we can (just getting by) or living our best life what we are truly after?

At this point I have seen a lot of life. Most good, but some bad as well. In every life the sun shines and the rain falls. We have to ask ourselves what it means to live our best life, and how God fits into that plan….and as importantly how our plan fits into His.

I have had seasons where I just survived and I do not back on them fondly. I learned something in each of those seasons, but I was not built to just survive. No, I believe I was built to thrive, I think we all are. But there are times when to thrive means that we keep our focus purely upon God through a survival season. This is where, I believe, one finds true joy.

Reflect on: if you are in a season of survival, ask God to show you how to thrive so you can be living your best life
