3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; (Psalm 101:3a NKJV)
Our pastor is doing a really good series of sermons and our scriptures today he referenced in respect to the screens we spend so much time looking at. He likened them to the front door of our homes. We do not leave our front doors open so that just anyone can walk in. No, we keep them closed and locked for a reason.
However, we cannot say the same for the screens that have taken over our lives. These are open doors to our lives and we give away our attention and privacy to them each and every day. Even if we practice diligent faith living, making a covenant with our eyes on our phones, how much comes up that we never seek? Watching social media or YouTube, the enemy sneaks in subtle messages or images and our subconscious mind can wander far astray.
Reflect on: What you set before your eyes. Are you guarding your doors? Do you need to reduce the amount of screen time and spend more time with God?
