1 To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in You;
Let me not be ashamed;
Let not my enemies triumph over me.
3 Indeed, let no one who [a]waits on You be ashamed;
Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Show me Your ways, O Lord;
Teach me Your paths. (Psalm 25:1-4 NKJV)
When you look back over your life, do you see a string of enemies? Probably not, however if I ask the question differently…do you see people who have dealt with you treacherously? Maybe even treacherously is too strong a word, how about those who you know have not been on your team. Those who have either worked or spoken words that were not in your favor.
We all have team members and those we compete against. Even if it is simply competing ideologies, not everyone will align with us. This can be especially true when we bring into the conversation our belief system. But your Father in heaven, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are forever on our side when we come to belief. So even when others may speak against us or we find ourselves at complete odds with them we can know that God will never leave nor forsake us.
Reflect on: God’s support in your life and how He helped you deal with those who were not on your side. We will always encounter those who are against us, but we can always rely upon who is for us.
