45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45 NKJV)
While I post these devotions on various social media sites I do not necessarily like looking over the content there. It just reminds me how divided we are as a nation and now as a world. We agree on very little these days. Even in religious communities debates and differences are held up like they are validations of who is right and who, we think, is wrong. Everyone speaks of tolerance but we have none. We forget that God made the sun to rise on the just and the unjust.
This is in fact Biblical. Much of scripture points to a world that is getting progressively worse, and will continue to do so until Jesus returns. Until that time we need to find ways to better hate the sin but love the sinner. Instead we simply want to walk away from it all, hole up in our churches or homes and just turn the world off. However, this is not what we are called to do. We are to go and make disciples of all nations.
Reflect on: You view of the world and how you are filling the great commission as we are all meant to do.
