A Price Paid Once And For All

10 By that will we have been [a]sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, (Hebrews 10:10-12 NKJV)

Before Christ died for our sins, sacrifices had to be made continually to cover human’s continual sin. These sacrifices did not take away sin, they only atoned for the sin. Thus, they had to be made over and over again. The work He did on the cross on this Good Friday was done once, for all of mankind.

Now Jesus sits at the right hand of God. He speaks on our behalf while the accuser, our enemy, continues to lure us into sin and then accuse us of it. The sad fact is in our world the enemy’s job is made easier. We lure ourselves away into sin far more often than he does I am afraid. We continue in our sin as they did in the days when Hebrews was written. We are truly wretched creatures.

It is only through the cross that we are made whole in God’s eyes.

Reflect on: The cross, Jesus sacrifice and what that means in your life. If you do not know Christ, do not wait another moment, call upon Him right now!
