Sunday Reflection: Easy Like Sunday Morning

There is an old proverb I read recently, “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content.” I do believe that this is sage advice. Sundays need to be a day well spent on relaxation, reflection and time with yourself and God.

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 NKJV)

I am not sure we can hope for a peaceful week without time spent with God on Sundays. I have found that without some level of reflection and resetting, which for me requires time in scripture and in prayer, my week can be tough. In fact, as you probably know, I need that pretty much daily. But Sunday’s are special. They are a day I try my best to take more time for this, especially time spent outside with my Bible in hand.

Some of this time, for me, needs to be in a church setting as well. Good friends, praise and worship are fitting for Sundays, but I know many are suffering from hurtful feelings from church settings. I pray for you if you are, and ask that you remember that those people you attend church with are just as broken as you are. It is, truly, a house full of sinners looking for Gods love and correction.

Reflect on: How you can allow Sunday to reset your entire week and reframe the next.
