18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18 NKJV)

As we begin this new year it is a new chance to draw near to the Lord and to stay as close as we can throughout the year. Making a point to read scripture and pray, then sit in silence and wait for His direction.

The difficulty is the whole “sitting in silence”, because most of us are so constantly online that there is no silence. Even if we are not watching videos or listening to something we are scrolling and reading content. We have become a society that is uncomfortable with sitting still for even a moment. To come before the Lord of the universe and sit in silence for any time can be a true challenge.

We need to cultivate an inner silence where the Spirit has space to work in our lives. If we cannot get away from our screens, we cannot cultivate this silence.
