New Year – New Rhythm

23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:23-24 NKJV)

What better day to decide to renew our spirit and rededicate our lives than New Year’s Day! But, in the faith life, that renewing should happen daily.

Unlike resolutions that tend to fade quickly, we need to make a point to renew our spirit daily through the reading of scripture and prayer. I know I have written on this often, but it is something that needs a diligence put to it to provide the impact we need in our lives. The Spirit will work within but needs to partner with us so that we continue to grow and mature in our Christian walk.

Today is a good day to rededicate your life to God and find a rhythm in your daily walk. This rhythm in our days should be a marker of not just our family or work life, but should reflect Gods impact upon how we live. The world will try to impress its own rhythm on our life and it is easy to simply go with that flow. However, that flow does not lead us where we want to go in most cases.

Reflect on: Not letting life live you, but make a resolution to live your best faith life.
