Sunday Reflection: No Happenstance

It is hard to get in the Christmas mood when, here in Texas, the temperature is hovering in the high 70’s. Luckily, a couple of grandkids can quickly bring back the feeling.

13 When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens,
and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth.
He makes lightning for the rain,
and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses. (Jeremiah 10:13 ESV)

Texas is one of those place where it can be easily said, if you do not like the weather wait a minute, it will change. You have to be prepared when you go out in a heavy coat that you may need shorts by the afternoon. God is in charge of it all, and He see’s to it that we get to experience all that this wonderful planet He has us on has to share.

Nothing is happenstance, although it may seem like it. God orchestrates not just the weather but everything that happens regarding our lives. Yes, we have free will to do with what He sends our way as we see fit. But He will continue to try to get our attention so that we are within His will.

Reflect on: The changing weather in your life and what is may speak of God’s plan.
