We want to think that when God opens a door to us that everything will be smooth sailing. But, as the saying goes, “A smooth sea never made a good sailor.”

Throughout our faith life God will test us both to grow our faith and to improve our dependence upon Him. Even when the road looks wide and the way clear we may experience difficulty or, as Paul, many adversaries. This is when we keep going down the road we believe God has us on and look for the signs God is wanting you to see.

Even when the way is difficult, having God to fall back on and rest in can make tough going far easier. It is in these times, while it comes contrary to our nature, we need to praise God more and thank Him for what he is teaching us.
