10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. (John 10:10 ESV)
We know that there are two forces in life, that of good (which is from God) and evil (which is from the enemy). We have this battle raging within us every moment of every day. There may be times when it does not seem like there is a battle, but it is always there in the background.
When we know that life in Christ is meant to be an abundant life, why then do we choose the darker path so frequently? This is the work of our sin nature, the path of the world and the work of the enemy and his minions. We must walk into each day’s battlefield and put on the armor of God so that we can hold strong against the flaming arrows and darts of the enemy.
If we approach each day like a battle, committed to a life in Christ, He will give us strength to live with humble purpose and focus on what is best.
Reflect on: The battle for your life and how you approach it each day.
