Sunday Reflection: Turmoil & Blessings

This has been a week! We had even more reason to give thanks on Thanksgiving with the birth of our third grandchild. Winter Ryan came into this world a little rough, but she made it and is doing well today. We also had the blessing of a few days with our other two grandchildren. After a year of some family turmoil this was a good week.

23 They shall not labor in vain
    or bear children for calamity,[a]
for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord,
and their descendants with them. (Isaiah 65:23 ESV)

We all go through times of turmoil and times of blessing. We can’t let the first overwhelm the second. The lives we live and the labor we put into it will not be in vain. When we bring up our children in the faith, even if they stray, they will return. Even in times of difficulty God gives us blessings.

When we give thanks for our blessing and for our turmoil God honors both. He will come through for us no matter what, even when we cannot see the end of the road, He can.

Reflect on: Your turmoil and your blessings. Thank God for both.
