15 As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand. (Ecclesiastes 5:15 ESV)
Naked you came into this world and naked you will leave it. Nothing you have goes with you when you go. So consider all you hold dear or hold on to and count it as nothing as it will all be given to someone else when your time on this earth is up.
About the only mark we leave on this earth as a legacy is how we treated others and who we lead to God while we were here. While a personal legacy also fades in time, those who we helped lead to Christ will live on into eternity. It is in this that we store up treasures in heaven, but it is not a body count thing. The act of speaking about God while we are on this earth is the important thing. There may be a byproduct of more people in heaven, and that is good, but what God wants is us speaking the Good News.
Reflect on: Are you regularly speaking the Good News? Are you building upon that legacy?
