21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21 ESV)
Today the media is rife with various predictions. The end of the world, aliens, wars and rumors of wars. It is easy to get caught up in all of these things. The scriptures too make many predictions, many prophecies. The difference is those have come to pass and have been historically confirmed.
Revelations is a book of scripture that is full of predictions. When they will come to pass no one but the Father knows. My father thought Jesus would return in his lifetime. I too feel like He could at any moment. But I think that much of this may be wishful thinking. Oh, He could return at any moment and we should live in a way that respects that possibility. But whether it is today or a thousand years from now, only He knows. Our job is to live as if it were tomorrow.
Reflect on: How your life reflects Jesus returning. Are you living in a way that reflects how He would want you to live out your last days?
