39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 10:39 ESV)
How tightly do you cling to your life? Do you worry and fret over what will happen each day and concern yourself over what might happen next week, month or year?
This tight clinging to life makes it a drudgery to live, I know, I have done it. But when we loosen our grasp and start relying more upon God we begin to find a freedom. This does not mean that we will not have worries, but that our worries are more easily relinquished to God for His divine intervention.
God will not always make the path clear nor the road straight. He may need us to walk through a few valleys, climb a few mountains and detour around some obstacles. In fact, He may show us that we need the obstacles to learn valuable life lessons.
But if we cling too tightly, God gives us free will to do so as we see fit.
Reflect on: Just how tightly you are clinging and if you need to loosen your grip.
