Don’t Mistake

32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32 ESV)

In many ways we see tenderhearted as weak. When someone is empathetic and loving we do not give them credit for that coming from a place of strength. We mistake kindness for weakness. But this is a mistake we make at our own peril.

Tenderhearted people, who forgive and forget wrongs are some of the strongest people out there. They are the ones who do not allow others to have any power over them by taking one moment of their precious time letting others get under their skin. In this way their skin can be far thicker than those who see themselves as strong and successful. It is more often the latter who fall to small pressures.

The strength in forgiveness cannot be underestimated and the strength of those who possess it either.

Reflect on: Your ability to forgive, is it strong or weak. Possibly it is time to gain strength through forgiveness and tenderheartedness.
