15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,[a] a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15 ESV)
There is a lot in our verse today to consider. First, if you were to present yourself to God today, how do you feel like that would go? It’s a good question to ponder. Would He see you as a good worker, one approved and not ashamed? Really consider that now, it may not be such an easy question to answer, for there is much we could be doing for God.
The last segment of this verse can tell us a lot about ourselves. In light of being a representative of heaven on earth, are we rightly handling the word of truth? This week I have heard many refer to Charlie Kirk as a “speaker of truth”, and having listened to him pretty extensively, I would have to agree. In the end, sadly, it probably is what got him killed.
But Charlie did not waver, he spoke his truth often backing it with scripture. This is what will get s in trouble with many in this old world today. As we speak the word of truth from scripture it will be like a hot coal dropped in others laps. But we cannot fail to speak it in love.
Reflect on: How are you handling the word of truth, are you speaking it boldly?
