8 for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:8)
I have written often about discipline, probably more for my own edification than anything else. I need reminding even though I do this every day. Just like everyone else, we all are easily drawn away by the enemy and the world. This is because the enemy has so much domain upon the earth, but his time is nearly up I believe.
Thus, spiritual discipline has never been so important as it is now. We must not be lead away and find ourselves engaged in things of no worth when the Lord returns. We need to make the most of the time left to us to be about God’s plan and be reaching as many people as possible in the short time left.
Let us not simply look busy, but let us be busy about the Lords work.
Reflect on: Your time and what you are doing with it. What will have lasting value in eternity?
