Measured

38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

The last line of this verse should give us pause to truly consider the measures in our lives.

This is not just talking about tithing like many may think, but is talking about many aspects of our lives. Yes, the money we give, but our time as well and the gifts God has given us. Are we actually using these things to further the kingdom, or are we simply living our best life?

It has been said many times, “we cannot out give God.” This is true, all that we do or give in His name He gives back many fold. We may not see it all in this life, but rest assured He wants to give back to His children.

We too should be giving of ourselves generously so that what is measured back to us is done so generously.

Reflect on: the measure you use. Are you generous or stingy?
