Sunday R&R – Work Together

Hectic lives and busy schedules can run into the weekends and we can just find ourselves tired. This is why setting aside Sunday in a biblical fashion and resting can be so valuable and rewarding. Our main goal today should be for rest and reflection (R&R).

In a bit of a change I will be doing a weekly reflection on Sundays to encapsulate some thoughts on the week.

28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[a] for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28 ESV)

Like you, I am sure, there was a lot happening this week and some of it rolled into Saturday (work wise). This happens pretty often in my profession and I am ok with it, it is part of the job. Reflecting on this the only part that I realize I have been putting off has been my health. Not a good thing at all.

I used to be an avid gym rat, working out daily. Now I struggle to find a day or two a week to ride my mountain bike. Being diabetic I need to be doing something daily and watching my intake. Which the only thing I am watching is all the bad stuff I am stuffing in my mouth.

If we do not take care of the temple God gave us proactively we will find ourselves having to take care of it medically.

Life has to be a balance of the physical, mental and spiritual. All things must work together.
