1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, (John 17:1 ESV)
From the least most basic and menial of task to the most grandiose and greatest, we should seek to glorify the Father.
This is what Christ did upon the cross. He pointed ever upward toward God the Father in His every action, from the beginning of His ministry to His last day and beyond.
I have written before about how this mindset can change every aspect of our lives. When we do absolutely everything with a mind toward how it will glorify the Father, what we and how we do it changes drastically. Furthermore, the outcomes also change. They truly do go from meaningless to meaningful.
How many have looked at this life and asked, “is this all there is?”. At some point we all get to this point. The striving and climbing becomes meaningless clamoring for more things to fill a God sized hole in our lives. Only when we turn our ambitions toward God does even the meaningless become meaningful.
Reflect on: The last day you gave fully to God. Where everything you did you turned over to Him and did only for Him. If you have not done so, try it today and see how the day changes.
