1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalms 91:1-2 ESV)
It can be very easy to get caught up in thinking that we have to work out our every problem, our every concern. The issue with this type of thinking is that it puts us on a treadmill of problem solving without context or maybe even capability. We believe we have all the facts and try to think ourselves out of the situation we find ourselves in. But there are often many mitigating circumstances that create difficulties in our lives that we have little to no control over.
When we abide in the shelter of the Most High and take our refuge in Him that we begin to find our way free of our issues. This is not to say that problems solve themselves, but that we begin to have more faith in the one who can help us work them out than we do in our own ability to do so. We start to understand reliance upon God.
Reflect on: Problem solving in your life. Are you doing it all or are you giving God room to work?
