Covered & Protected

20 In the cover of your presence you hide them
    from the plots of men;
you store them in your shelter
    from the strife of tongues. (Psalms 31:20 ESV)

With a view that spans many years, we can look back over our lives and see how God has sheltered us and preserved us. It is often only in hindsight that we realize how God has protected us in difficult times.

I have worked in many different places and experienced many forms of politics. I am not political, so what you see is what you get. For the most part being who I am, working with honesty, transparency and integrity served as much politics as I needed. But there were times when not playing the game had negative consequences. But I trusted God and let the chips fall where they may and these many years later I can tell you that He did not disappoint.

I never had to worry much about the plots of men in my personal life. But here too, I expect that God served as my protector from the strife of tongues.

Reflect on: In hindsight, all that God might have been doing for you over the years to cover and protect you.
