Best Use of Your Time

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV)

I often ask to those who work for me, “what is the highest and best use of your time?” This, they understand, is a twofold question. First, are they making the best use of their own time and second, is this a task that could be delegated to a more appropriate resource. This helps motivate both good time management and a mastering of the fine art of delegation.

This holds true in our faith life as well. The Spirit may prompt us when we are idle or we are not making good use of our remaining time on this earth. Much like in business, we need to make a point of managing our personal time well as well. Idle time is the enemy’s playground. We are easily lead astray when we are not making good use of our it or following the Spirits leading.

Time is one of our most precious resources.

Reflect on: Do you well understand what the Lord is leading you to do? Are you making good use of your time? Maybe it is time for a little realignment.
