Imperishable

to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, (1 Peter 1:4 ESV)

Look around you and consider for a moment what you have that could not be taken from you or will not fade away over time.

Only what God offers is imperishable. Everything, and I mean everything, we have could just disappear in front of our eyes over time. That is a sobering thought. All of your hard earned, long established, things we value could be gone in the blink of an eye or simply get used up over time. We do not like to think this way. We think everything we have will last forever but this world is fading away.

So why then do we put so much emphasis upon that which we may hold on to for a limited amount of time. Why not further invest in that which will be with us through eternity. Are not the things of heaven so much more valuable? Or do we just not put a value upon it because we cannot see it yet?

Reflect on: What you are investing in. Things of this world that are fading away, or things of heaven that will be there through eternity.
