13 For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
    my soul knows it very well. (Psalms 139:13-14 ESV)

We have two image problems. On the one hand we are people who are not perfect, and as such we focus on our flaws and continually lament our shortcomings. On the other we raise on a pedestal images of what the world calls “perfect” which are often Photoshopped reflections no one can achieve. Furthermore, we now have AI furthering the distortions of what might be.

Scripture paints a very different picture. A picture of how God formed and knew each of us before we were even born. How He made each of us fearfully and wonderfully. If we search, down deep, our soul realizes that we are known more intimately by God than any other. No matter what our body image might tell us, God looks beyond that to the image He formed. We are each beautiful in His eyes.

Reflect on: Do you have a poor self image? Do you look at others to judge your value? Know that God looks beyond that and praise Him for what He made.
