Deeply Imbedded

But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3 ESV)

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

I heard that so much as a kid that it is permanently stuck in my head. It was a ad campaign meant to keep kids off drugs. Maybe it worked for me as I have never dabbled in anything drug related, but for the most part it was a joke to us kids. Unfortunately, the enemy and the world is far more cunning than any drug campaign.

While it did not seem to work, it did get in to your head and stick. Much like scripture is meant to get into our heads and our hearts to work against the temptations of the enemy and the world. To make the campaign stick, we have to have great scriptural repetition so it does so. I heard that ad campaign daily, if not multiple times per day. We need scripture repeating in our minds even more frequently.

To maintain a sincere and pure devotion to Christ we must have deeply imbedded grasp on scripture. When temptation comes our way we need to be able to recall scripture immediately to combat what we are feeling and desiring.

Reflect on: How deeply imbedded scripture is in your life and mind. If it isn’t, maybe consider taking a Bible with you where ever you go. I do.
