2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. (Colossians 4:2-4 ESV)
As I have written many times, prayer is the thing that keeps us in constant contact with God. Without prayer we lose our communion with Him and the world and the enemy can lead us quickly astray. Furthermore, prayer is our connection to others. It allows us to be a part of others lives by intervening for them through the prayers we lift up.
The Bible stresses the importance of a good prayer life. My prayer for those who read these devotional is that they might encourage, edify or plant a seed that God can water. My role is only to impart what the Spirit puts on my heart and in my head. I rely upon Him to make it clear what I ought to write.
Reflect on: Your prayer life. Are you making a point to commune with God regularly? Not just daily, but multiple times per day. Are you intervening for others?
