All Things Tested

12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. (1 Corinthians 3:12-15 ESV)

Coming out of the Easter weekend, it is nice to know that we cannot lose the salvation Christ died to provide. However, we must know that all we have done will one day be put to the test by God. Those things we did either in God’s name or that were according to His will will withstand. Our reward will come from those pleasing things we did.

But we cannot look only at the good, there is also the sinful aspects of our lives that will be judged. The things we did where we lived only for ourselves or created difficulty in others lives will also be judged. Those things will be burned up in God’s holy fire.

All things will be tested.

Reflect on: We have the ability to store up more rewards in heaven by simply living for God in this life we have been given.
