Sinking

29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind,[a] he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:29-31 ESV)

Have you had a situation where you were doing what you thought was God’s will for your life, but suddenly you find yourself with many trials and troubles? Where you took your eyes off the Lord and began to sink like Peter?

I think we all have experienced this to some degree. We think we are doing right but the storms around us are strong and frightening. This is when we have to lock eyes with God and stay stronger than ever before. This is the time when the enemy will extend even more of his influence on the world you live in to unbalance you even more. These can be times sent to grow and strengthen our faith, or to show God in our lives to others.

Reflect on: If you are thinking you did something wrong, this may not be the case. If it is, maybe God is giving you a period to reflect on changes you need to make.
