Your Situation

12 I want you to know, brothers,[a] that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, 13 so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard[b] and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word[c] without fear. (Philippians 1:12-14 ESV)

Paul had been given a task, to take the gospel to the gentiles. However, he found himself imprisoned and far from the ministry he thought he would be pursuing or the way he thought he would. But he did not let this deter him from preaching to the Roman imperial guard nor writing to the churches he and others had planted.

You see, our circumstances may have little to do in the way of hindering God’s message. He can work through us no matter where we find ourselves. He will equip us to spread His word in any and every aspect of our lives. We just need to heed His call and act when God provides the chance.

Reflect on: How are you using your current situation to further the Gospel?
