¹⁷ I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. (Romans 16:17 ESV)

There is much in this world today that is set up to divide us. Religion, politics, culture, truth, we all view these things differently and do not put in the hard work to find some common ground.

But, guess what. This is exactly what the enemy desires. Our division.

Can you imagine a world where we sought common ground first!? What a wonderful world that would truly be. But instead of only trying to imagine it, maybe we could work toward such a world. Yes, there will be those who simply will not try to see any form of common ground. And I am not talking about compromising one’s faith. What I am saying is that if we sought first to listen and understand and not immediately interject our opinion, maybe, just maybe, we could create a different world.
