1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 15:1-2 ESV)
Philippians 4:7 speaks of a peace that surpasses all understanding, which is only obtained through justification by faith in Jesus Christ. This grace we were given when we first believed allows us to stand in peace and rejoice in hope. If you do not have this in your life it is worth seeking at all cost.
It cannot be emphasized enough that the only path to lasting peace is found in God. Without Him we are cast about on an ocean of cares and concerns. The deeper peace that comes from life in Christ is one that can pull us out of the pain of loss, the distress of health issues and get us through the fear of job loss.
It is when we obtain this access through faith into His grace that we can truly rejoice. I know that these may sound like simply words, but they are words with the power to heal. If we will only let the words of scripture, our message from God to permeate our lives.
