16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV)
Some of you today, on this Thanksgiving, may be having troubling giving thanks for everything. Maybe you suffered a loss, or are dealing with a medical condition, job issues, money issues…there is always something in this life to create troubles. This and our enemy is always looking for ways to keep us down.
I think this is one reason this passage on giving thanks in all circumstances starts with, “Rejoice always”, and “Pray without ceasing.” Both of these practices will help us to get to a place where we can give thanks in all circumstances. Do not let the enemy drag you down and ruin a day where we need to thank God for absolutely everything we have and who He has made us. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I am raising up everyone who reads this today, all my friends and everyone who has ever read these devotions in a thanksgiving prayer. I am grateful for the ministry of writing God has given me and my desire is to convey messages of hope and God’s grace to the world.
