Virtues

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)

I know I have written before about this scripture and these virtues, but they require regular reflection. Each of them has a very important impact upon our faith life.

Love – is the foundation of our faith, and should permeate all we do.

Joy – may be elusive to many, but it is the state in which God desires we live and love.

Peace – Comes from security and security comes from trusting God.

Patience – is the byproduct of maturity in Christ. We learn to trust and wait on Christ.

Kindness – is a natural byproduct of our Christian love. How can we have love and not kindness.

Goodness – is something to strive toward, a byproduct of replacing our sin nature with Gods nature.

Faithfulness – comes from trusting God in every aspect of our lives.

Gentleness – is developed when we realize that our touch upon this world must be marked with a gentle nature.

Self Control – shows that we have Christ with in, replacing our sinful nature with our God nature.
