Wherever I Go

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me. (Psalm 139:7-10 ESV)

Today’s scripture should be a comforting reminder that God is with us everywhere. But if we really apply this logic it may be sobering.

God is there when you get angry in traffic.

God is there when you lend a hand to a friend.

God is there when you look too longingly at something you really do not need.

God is there when you help the homeless.

God is there when you envy another for what they have and you do not.

Yes, God is there in every moment of our lives. He too provides us all of these moments so that we might grow in His presence and His wisdom. Even when we are doing wrong, God is giving us an opportunity to do right.

Wherever I go there You are.
