Love One Another

34 “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35 ESV)

Do you ever get confused or wonder at just how you are meant to live out a faithful Christian life? I mean, there is a lot we “could” do, but there is one thing we are commanded to do above all others; love one another.

If you really think about it, the act of loving others alone could cure all manner of issues in this old world. Unfortunately, we know that not everyone will do this, because not everyone is Christian. But are we, as Christians, really that good at this? Do we really go around loving on others or are we put out by them more often than not?

These are really important questions we should not only ask ourselves today, but every day. Are we doing all we can every day so that everyone will know that we are Jesus’ disciples? Will other people say of us that we are different and know without a doubt why? If not we need to change how we live and interact with others.

Being kind and loving, living an empathetic life, is not that hard. It just means that we get close enough to others to know their needs and not keep people at a distance.
